La Famille is a family of wines showcasing the most iconic wines of the world; Chardonnay from Burgundy, Chenin Blanc from Vouvray, Montepulciano from Abruzzo, Tempranillo from Rioja and even Sparkling Shiraz from Barossa.
The 2024 La Famille Cotes du Rhone has been sourced directly from top Rhône producer the Lavau family (Maison Lavau), who have been producing since 1965.
Sourced entirely from estate-grown fruit, this wine is a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah, from vines that were planted in 1980. The fruit was harvested, destemmed, and macerated in temperature controlled tanks for 18 days, then then matured in aged French oak barriques for 15 months before being bottled unfiltered and unfined (vegan friendly).
Beautifully aromatic and textural, yet with tension and finesse, this wine has generous dark berry fruit, spice, classic dried French herb 'garrigue' notes and ripe, talcy tannins. A generous, juicy red wine with complexity and plenty of layers to unfurl, enjoy in a generously sized glass to obtain its full aromatic potential.
