Cam's top three wines at the moment are:2021 Silver Wing Pét Nat Rosé
To set the scene, you’re on the beach, the sun is low in the sky, you’re chatting with your mates post swim and you’re a tad parched. You don’t want anything too heavy but still want something fizzy. Nothing too sweet but super crisp and refreshing. The Silver wing Rose Pét Nat ticks all the boxes, it’s light and crisp with a hint of juicy raspberry and blueberry from the Pinot Noir grapes. A fun in the sun, easy going, crowd pleaser, Sunday sesh type of wine, you know the one.2019 Sato 'L’Atypique' Pinot Gris
Orange Wine but make it a ‘fine wine’. Aged in oak barrels for 20 months after 34 days skin contact gives a smooth, roundness that gives real depth and clarity. Just the right amount of acidity with a light tannin that keeps the wine in perfect balance. Every glass you say: yep, this is exactly what I want in an orange wine, and no, you can’t have any more.
My dad was skeptical when I told him about chilled reds, now he’s a convert. Bisou or ‘kisses’ is exactly that. It’s one of the lightest and subtle chilled reds out there, light tannin and low residual sugar means there are hints of raspberry and strawberry that retain a bit of their acidity, perfectly light and super juicy without being overly sweet.
