100% Premier Cru Pinot Noir from the 'Sur la velle' plot in Monthélie, an appellation in Burgundy just North of Saint-Aubin (where Domaine Derain and Sextant are based), and right beside Meursault and Volnay.
Organically farmed, hand harvested, approximately 50% whole bunch Pinot Noir which has been pressed after 12 days maceration then matured in aged French oak barrique for 12 months. Unfiltered, unfined.
This wine is fruitful, floral and fine. Bright red fruit at its core, velvety tannins which soften and supple upon opening and then pretty violet and some spicey aromas on the nose. An incredible reflection of site and soil.
