En Avant Doute is a juicy, pure-fruited Grenache grown by Jérôme and Stephanie Jouret in the Ardèche, a relatively unknown appellation to the West of Northern Rhône.
Organically farmed, estate-grown, hand-harvested, this wine is fermented with very little maceration, some still carbonic maceration (whole-berry fermentation) in fact, leading to the wine being soft, supple and without the usual green notes or grippy tannins of cool-climate Grenache.
Wild fermented, unfiltered, unfined, and without any added SO2 (sulphur dioxide) whatsoever, year in year out, the wines from Jérome Jouret prove to be incredibly clean and pure.
Any natural wine purist will enjoy these wines. Similarly, because of how well they are made, any sceptic or anyone unfamiliar will too. En Avant Doute is essentially a mid-bodied, low-tannin red that suits a slight chill, but doesn't require it.
