100% Premier Cru Chardonnay from the 'Les Murgers des Dents de Chien' plot in the Southwest pocket of the Domaine Derain estate in Saint-Aubin, Burgundy.
So named for the Murgers (small stone walls) and Dents de Chien (Dog's teeth - the small pieces of limestone) in the vineyard, this is one incredibly special wine! Located right next to Chassagne-Montrachet, this is a hillside site made up of mostly limestone producing incredibly fine, lively and mineral wines. Derain make this wine in a richer, more oxidative fashion than their other cuvées, leaving you with a beautiful balance between richness, texture, acidity, and minerality.
Organically farmed, hand harvested, whole bunch pressed, fermented and matured in aged French oak barriques for 12 months before being bottled unfiltered and unfined.
