'Landré' is a 0.3 hectare plot at Domaine Derain which features a tiny amount of the rare (for Burgundy) variety Pinot Blanc! Not allowed by the appellation, this wine is subsequently declassified from Premier Cru Saint-Aubin Blanc to just Bourgogne Blanc.
Landré has more generosity and weight than the 100% Chardonnay cuvées from Derain, owing to the richer, thicker-skinned and lower acidity variety Pinot Blanc which makes up approximately 10% of the Landré plot. It's incredibly unique for Burgundy and has been left untouched by Dominique Derain who took over the estate in 1989 (vineyard planted in the 1920s).
Organically farmed, hand harvested (together - Chardonnay & Pinot Blanc), whole bunch pressed, fermented and matured in aged French oak barriques for 12 months before being bottled unfiltered and unfined.
