2018 Carrick The Death of Von Tempsky Riesling
The Death of Von Tempsky ( at Te Ngutu o Te Manu ) is a natural wine made with white grapes grown on the Cairnmuir Vineyard. It's name comes from a lithograph - the work of New Zealand printmaker Marion McGuire.
Harvested on the Autumn equinox and pressed on the Spring equinox. Schist based Alluvial loess soils, 30 meters deep. 100% Riesling, 0.25ha plot planted 2008. Biodynamic principles, practiced from 2011. Organic certification to European Union equivalence. All fruit hand-picked with 100% whole-cluster fermentation. Zero additions.
