Renardat-Fâche are perhaps the most famous producers in the world of Bugey-Cerdon, a rosé sparkling wine from the tiny appellation of Bugey, France. Here we have all three wines from their 2019 release:
"En Blanc Aussi": "In white too", is a reference to this wine being from Renardat-Fache (i.e. usually sparkling rosé), but this time made from Chardonnay. It's grown by a neighbouring grower (also Ecocert-certified organic), made in the same méthode ancestrale (disgorged pét nat) style that is just as crisp, refreshing and incredibly moreish as the rosés they are famous for!
NV Bugey-Cerdon: This wine is a new cuvée (blend) for them, being a blend of 2019 and 2020 fruit, and made entirely from Gamay Noir. Between this and the single vintage wine, this is the most intense and fruity of the two.
2019 Bugey-Cerdon: A revised cuvée for the year with a higher proportion of Poulsard (Ploussard) to Gamay Noir than before. Definitely the more savoury and elegant of the two sparkling rosés.
