2019 La Perdida 'O Trancado' Garnacha Tintorera Blend


O Trancado is the name of the very first vineyard that Nacho began with, the one he inherited from his grandmother. Nowadays this cuvée is a blend of approximately 70% Garnacha Tintorera (a cross of Grenache and Petit Bouschet) and 30% white variety Mencía ("men-thee-ah") from more than a dozel parcels in his area which were planted around 1940 and 1960. Hand harvested, destemmed, then fermented together in tinajas (Spanish amphora), aged French oak and chestnut barrels. This is a fruity, low acid, gentle red with earth, spice and gentle tannins - drink as a lighter red wine.
