2019 La Perdida 'O Chaira' Doña Branca

$50.00

A Chaira comes from an old vineyard in Seadur named “O Chao” that winemaker Nacho Gonazalez has been leasing since 2013. With vines yielding less than 2kg each, the grapes are hand harvested, destemmed by hand into 400 litre Juan Padilla tinajas and left to rest for 4 months on their skins. Pressed, then settled in stainless steel before being bottled unfiltered, unfined and without any added sulphites, this is a lively vino naranja (orange wine) with citrus, apple, chamomile, and a delicate briney, mineral finish. Local cuisine would have you enjoy this with clams or mussels.

Grape Variety: Doña Branca (also referred to as Doña Blanca)
Winemaking: 4-months skin-contact (orange wine)
Region: Valdeorras, Galicia, NW Spain
Soils: Clay
Climate: Maritime, high-elevation
Farming: Organic, not certified
No added sulphites.
